The MyDealerLot™ RTLS / RFID vehicle tracking software solutions are used by retail dealerships, auction companies, and vehicle ports to achieve a completely new level of inventory tracking and visibility. It's like having an "always-on" physical inventory.
Next to the customer, your vehicle inventory is likely your most important asset. A typical lot has several million dollars of vehicle inventory sitting at any given time. The vast majority of the time, this inventory is owned by external lien-holders - which make accurate inventory tracking and reporting critical.
The MyDealerLot solution is comprised of hardware such as RFID tags that beacon information and readers that triangulate the position of the tags. This is bundled with complete MyDealerLot deployment kits, MyDealerLot software, and professional services to define the complete solution.
- MyDealerLot deploys engineered ‘kits’ containing AeroScout Location Receivers and Choke Point Exciters which are placed at key locations within your lot. Our engineered kits utilize the latest technology to perform triangulation to determine the vehicle’s location. The location is graphically plotted by MyDealerLot using patented location algorithms. We use TDOA (Time Distance of Arrival) technology which provides the most accurate location possible in an outdoor environment.
- MyDealerLot receives via FTP a simple inventory listing daily from your current inventory management system. MyDealerLot loads this data to our application and performs a complete VIN “explosion” resulting in a robust database of your inventory with options and other information.
- AeroScout “active” RFID tags (Wi-Fi) are encoded with a unique identifier which is then “married” to a VIN using MyDealerLot and placed in the interiors of the vehicle.. The tags ‘beacon’ at pre-defined intervals both in stationary and motion mode to deployed Location Receivers which in turn transmit the information wirelessly back to MyDealerLot.

- Vehicle location plotting happens automatically without any user input or intervention. Once the tag is installed inside the vehicle, there is nothing else to do. And once the vehicle is sold, MyDealerLot performs the “divorce” of the RFID tag from the VIN – allowing the tag to be used on the next incoming vehicle.
It all depends on the density of the Location Receivers installed based on your specific requirements. In most installations we perform, clients can achieve a resolution down to about a 4 vehicle radius (15 – 25 feet).
In general with both stationary and motion programming, you can expect a battery life of about 3-4 years. making tags re-usable over and over again. Batteries can be replaced with standard lithium-ion batteries. MyDealerLot also monitors tag battery life and can perform battery replacement at a minimal cost.
MyDealerLot has developed from the ground up complete proprietary deployment kits which provide our clients with all the required gear to make the solution work. A typical kit contains the Location Receiver, a wireless backhaul device, antennas, lightning suppression, cabling, and other components based on the power structure (see below).
We understand that each customer is different – and have provided a complete solution for every power requirement. We provide fully kitted NEMA enclosed solutions for either: Power over Ethernet (POE), direct power, and even fully autonomous solar powered devices.
